Steel sheet piling as well as heavy timber pilings and cross-members are visible in the foreground. A portion of the old railroad bridge can the seen on the far left side of the photo and a construction crane can be seen on the right side. Several factory buildings are visible in the background. The ground is lightly covered with snow and small chunks of ice can be seen on the river.
