Rabbi Max Arzt, vice chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, delivers a sermon celebrating the dedication of Temple Beth Israel synagogue in Flint, Michigan. Arzt asks the congregation to embrace their faith and embrace their own kindness not just during the Shabbas services at the synagogue, but every day in their lives at home and at work. He also declares that it is not just the anointment of the Torah Ark and the Ten Commandments which make the synagogue a holy place, it is the presence of the congregation and that the congregation must keep re-dedicating the synagogue week after week and month after month with their attendance. Rabbi Arzt's sermon is preceded by prayers and introductions.
