Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the bow and port side of the Pittsburgh Steamship Company freighter JAMES J. HILL, under steam. A small group of figures sit or lean along the port side of the ship near the bow. A man in a small boat is at the right edge of frame. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background. The image is captioned with the date, "1915." "No deck house," and "3357-'15," were written on the non-archival envelope which previously held the plate.
