February 2, 1856 edition of Ballou's Pictorial, containing a center spread on pages 72 and 73 of a lithograph credited to John Andrew entitled "Battle of Lake Erie - Commodore Perry's Victory." The LAWRENCE, NIAGARA, LITTLE BELT, LADY PROVOST, DETROIT, CHIPPEWAY, QUEEN CHARLOTTE, HUNTER, SCORPION, CALEDONIA, ARIEL, SOMERS, TRIPPER, PORCUPINE, and TIGRESS are all labeled. The LAWRENCE is shown disabled in the center of the image, and Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry and his crew row a lifeboat toward the NIAGARA.
