Jacobs who was the Chairman of the scholarship fund as well as the Vice President and Managing Director of the Buhl Stamping Company. The company letterhead appears across the top of the page which is dated "Dec. 31, 1900" and is signed in black ink by Charles H. Jacobs. The letter is entitled, "The Detroit High School Scholarship Fund," and gives some brief history of how and why the fund was established in 1890.
