Light hand coloring.; Case: leather with geometric pattern on front cover and a different geometric pattern on the back cover, hook-and-eye lock, ornate double elliptical mat, peach velvet pad with impressed design.; Inscription on verso of image plate: Aug. 27th 1852 by Wilcox, Mary + Sarah Yates, Lower Mich.; Inscription in back of case: Taken in 1852, Mary 13 yrs old - born 1839, Sarah 5, Born 11th July 1847.
