New house at Stone Hills

Notes:

House at 1353 Bridge St. N.W., George L. Stone, architect. Corner view of a three-story brick house set high on a hill, with extensive grounds and stonework landscaping. Trees to the right and beyond the house are in full foliage. Most of the ground level of the house is obscured by a corner patio with brick pillars supporting a lattice roof. On the near end of the house is a two-story wing, containing a sunroom on the upper level, and two windows and a door on the ground level. The brick chimney in the center of the near end of the house rises above the roof line peak and is topped with mini-pillars and a roof of wavy tile that matches the roof of the house. In the front of the house is a dormer window, and each of the windows on the main floor is topped with a medallion decoration. This photograph was featured in an article in the Grand Rapids Herald, September 4, 1927.
