A photograph likely taken not long after the completion of this home. Built by railroad tycoon Orlando Mack Barnes in 1875-1876, located at 137 West Main Street overlooking the Grand River. The "castle" was designed by L. D. Grosvenor and built at a cost of $40,000. It had six stairwells and nine fireplaces, among other details.
