Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the bow and starboard side of the Wilson Transit Company freighter GENERAL GARRETSON, under steam. A crew member stands on deck near the forward cabin, while two others stand and sit near the aft cabin. Two more figures are visible at the stern. In the foreground, a man, wearing suspenders and a hat, appears to observe the freighter through binoculars from a rowboat. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background. The image is captioned, "1916."
