- Cabinet card bearing a sepia-toned head-and-shoulders portrait photograph of Detroit Fire Commissioner Joseph Godfrey. This photograph is one of a series of eight photos of former Detroit Fire Department Commissioners. The decorative engraved logo of the photographer (Randall) has been torn off of the verso of the cabinet card photo. The proof bears the name of "Geo. Francis Train" at the bottom, and a stamp for Randall, 220 & 222 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Mich." is shown on the verso. (Also see photograph 1952.413.004.)

- Photographic Print (1 copy). Sepia-toned albumen cabinet card photo of a fireman who is standing beside a small table and holding a whip in his right hand. The fireman is wearing his uniform which includes a long, double-breasted coat, decorative belt, and cap. His shirt has been hand-colored in purple in the collar area. The badge on his coat has the handwritten number "2." (The copy photo shows the handwritten number "3" on his coat and the badge number on the cap also appears to be number 3.) Handwriting on the verso notes "Whitney B. Beattie."

The name of the photograph studio is mostly torn off at the bottom of the card, but probably read "F. Friend, 244 & 246 Woodward Ave., Detroit."

He leans on a prop rock stand before a painted background of a lake surrounded by mountains and trees. "Capt. Adolph Hoenighausen taken 1876 as 'Minute Man,' pipeman 'Phoenix Steamer' Engine Co. No. 3," is handwritten beneath in green pen. The photo was previously housed in a grey J.W. Hughes display folder.
