- Risdon Pony Express Saddle Bag Presentation to Washtenaw Historical Society in 1954. Woman next to Blanche Mead is Bessie Collins, Saline Historian. Saddle Bags are now on display at Depot Museum, Risdon Drive.; Newspaper caption: "Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Martin, Saline, present to Howell Taylor, president of the Washtenaw Historical Society, the original saddle bags used by Orange Risdon to carry Pony Express mail on Detroit-Chicago run. Next to Mrs. Martin is Miss Blanche Mead, great-great grandaughter of Orange Risdon. Mayor of Saline, Henry Leutheuser, is standing next to Howell Taylor. The presentation was made in Saline, Saturday, when the Historical Society presented a plaque."

- Built in the 1870's with the front porch added in 1920. The house used to be the Methodist manse, then it was owned by Dr. Harold Miller, and Dr. Garrison owned it from 1964 - 1998.

- On the Harwood Farm at 285 W. Textile Road, Pittsfield Township. Ralph and nephew William Plettner, son of Maurine (Harwood) Plettner are cleaning out the barnyard.; Rear of barn in photo with cars - i.e., the barnyard. Grandchildren, nieces and nephews were always welcome and were included in work and play. Not to mention grandma's good cooking! No McDonald's cookies, good molasses cookies!
