Printed on verso: The Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, on the Campus Martius, was erected to the memory of the soldiers and sailors who fought in the civil war. It is a very handsome and imposing structure and is easily discernible from all parts of the Campus. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked 1912.

Printed on verso: Monroe Avenue, Detroit, Mich. Monroe Avenue is Detroit's Great Amusement thoroughfare. Here are located the Temple, Family, Columbia Royale and National Theatres; also any number of Nickel Shows. The electric display at night is very brilliant and here we follow the crowd in the evening. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Jan 2, 1918.

A large image of City Hall is in the center, as viewed from Campus Martius, facing southwest. The McGraw Building behind it is partially visible. Michigan Central Station, identified here as the "M.C.R.R. Union Depot, on the southwest corner of Third Street and West Woodbridge Street is at the upper left in a rectangular frame. Below it, is the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in Campus Martius, and the side of the Russell House in the background, framed in a circle. At the upper right, is another rectangular panel, this one depicting the pumping station and tower in Water Works Park. A circle bearing the image of a five story building with a dome-shaped tower, labeled "Y.M.C.A. Building Detroit." "Copyrighted 1887 by Ward Bros. Columbus O." printed in lower right corner.

The Palmer fountain is a gift to the city from Senator T.W. Palmer and his wife and cost $20,000. The buildings in rear are City Hall and Dime Bank Building the highest office building in Michigan.

- Color postcard depicting City Hall and the Majestic Building with a view down Fort Street from Campus Martius. Printed on verso: City Hall and Majestic Building. The business center of Detroit is the Campus Martius, situated at the converging of Lafayette, Monroe, Michigan and Woodward Avenues. It was reserved as a breathing spot in the "Governor and Judges" plan adopted for the city in its early history and has been beautified by a fountain donated by Mrs. Thomas W. Palmer. On it fronts the City Hall, Majestic Building, Detroit and Temple theatres and other prominent factors in the city life. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked 1910.
