Within the invitation is a listing of the general Executive Committee, Special Council Committee and Invitation and Reception Committee. These names include famous personages such as Wm.C. Maybury, R.A. Alger and many others.

- Certificate certifying William J. Higham as a member of the parade committee during Detroit's bi-centenary celebrations. The heading at the top of the certificate reads "BI-CENTENARY of the founding of Detroit," and indicates that the celebration took place "July 24-25-26th," 1901. A drawing under the header depicts Cadillac landing at Detroit in 1701. The text of the certificate reads: "A Memento of the celebration of the Bi-Centenary of the founding of the City of Detroit. This is to Certify that William J. Higham was a member of the Parade Committee." Signature on the bottom right of the certificate reads "William C. Maybury," followed by the printed text "Chairman General Executive Committee." The bottom left corner of the certificate is embossed and foil stamped with the seal of the Mayor of the City of Detroit.

- Photograph. Sepia-toned gelatin silver photo of a parade float that was part of the Detroit Bi-Centenary Parade. The float is mounted on street car trucks and is decorated to show early French explorers who have placed a large wooden cross on land. Three explorers and a horse are standing on the float. A sign at the right side of the float notes "First Cross" along with several additional words that are not legible due to the angle of the sign. The parade is moving along a residential street with several houses and trees being visible in the background. There are about ten spectators who are standing behind the curb.

- Photograph. Sepia-toned gelatin silver photo of a parade float that was part of the Detroit Bi-Centenary Parade. The float consist of a coal wagon (made of riveted steel) that is being drawn by two horses and is decorated with various country flags. Two men are at the front of the wagon (one standing and one seated) and four children are seated in back. The name, "Jewett, Bigelow & Brooks. Coal.," is painted on the side of the wagon and the floral letters, "JBB," can be seen just above the painted letters. Two men are standing in the street near the horses and a third man is standing near the back of the wagon. The parade is moving along a residential street and several wood-frame houses are visible in the background, but the street name is not known.

- Photograph. Sepia-toned gelatin silver photo of a parade float that was part of the Detroit Bi-Centenary Parade. The float consists of a floral-decorated, horse drawn wagon that shows a large swan and a gondola. A gondolier is standing at the gondola stern, a woman is seated in the middle, and another woman is standing at the bow of the gondola. One girl is seated at the front of the float and another girl is seated at the rear. Three African-American men are standing by the horses. A floral sign on the side of the float notes "Breitmeyer," which was most likely John Breitmeyer Sons florists (as listed in the 1901 Detroit City Directory). The parade is moving along a residential street with several spectators, houses, and an apartment building (or hotel) being visible in the background, but the street name is not known. The apartment building (or hotel) has the sign, "The Imperial," over the doorway, but there is no listing for this name in the 1901 or 1902 Detroit City Directories.

- Booklet describing a proposed "Monument to Be Erected by the People to Commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Founding of Detroit," copyright Henry Russel 1900. The monument was to be a Doric column twenty-four feet in diameter and two hundred twenty feet high, and was to stand "upon a site reclaimed from the river at the lower end of Belle Isle Park." The booklet features a several page description of the monument and the reasons why it was being proposed, and also solicits funds for the construction of the project, which was estimated to cost one million dollars. A color illustration of the proposed monument can be found on the verso of the first page. Also located in the booklet is a list of the members of the Detroit Bicentennial Memorial committee. The last sheet is a perforated sheet containing instructions for subscribing and sending funds to the committee.

A woman is seated in the driver's seat and a man is seated in back. Both are well-dressed and the woman is holding a buggy whip. The cart is moving along a residential street and two large houses can be seen in the background, but the street name is not known. A man is standing in the street near the horse. (The same man can also be seen in photo 1953.026.007 so it is possible that he was involved with the parade organization or was an assistant to the photographer.) Handwriting on the verso notes "Mrs. Bertram C. Whitney."

The Index Printing Company building is visible in the background.
