- Color postcard depicting the ice fountain on the median of Washington Boulevard, facing north. Printed on verso: Ice Fountain, Washington Boulevard. One of the unique features of Detroit in winter is the famous ice fountain on Washington Boulevard. Several jets of water are allowed to play all winter, and the result is a massive berg of ice which sometimes reaches a height of nearly thirty feet and contains many tons of crystal. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Feb 21, 1915.

- Certificate certifying William J. Higham as a member of the parade committee during Detroit's bi-centenary celebrations. The heading at the top of the certificate reads "BI-CENTENARY of the founding of Detroit," and indicates that the celebration took place "July 24-25-26th," 1901. A drawing under the header depicts Cadillac landing at Detroit in 1701. The text of the certificate reads: "A Memento of the celebration of the Bi-Centenary of the founding of the City of Detroit. This is to Certify that William J. Higham was a member of the Parade Committee." Signature on the bottom right of the certificate reads "William C. Maybury," followed by the printed text "Chairman General Executive Committee." The bottom left corner of the certificate is embossed and foil stamped with the seal of the Mayor of the City of Detroit.

- 3-page letter written by David W. Simons, owner of D. W. Simons & Company. It was typewritten in blue text onto slightly yellowed, thin linen paper which has the watermark "Chauncy Bond." The body of the letter indicates that Jewish people have become fairly well assimilated into the business and social life of the city. The first two pages have several handwritten corrections.
