- Half folded invitation and envelope from the Detroit Light Guard to a Governor's Levee and Military Soirée, held February 12, 1885 at the Princess Rink in honor of Governor Russell A. Alger. The front features a blue lithograph of a uniformed soldier standing beside the text, printed as though on a large seal, and an image of soldiers drilling at camp above. The interior lists the honorary guests, the honorary committee, the reception committee, the floor committee, and the general committee of management. The envelope has "Gov. R.A. Alger," handwritten on the front, and the seat of the Detroit Light Guard on the flap.

- Letter from A. L. Morley of the Michigan Stove Company to Messrs. Leach and Morrison of Spencer, Iowa, dated September 28, 1886. The letter shows an elaborate engraved letterhead of the Michigan Stove Company and is typewritten in blue ink. The paper is slightly yellowed with some brown staining along the bottom edge.

- Five dollar bank note from the Peninsular Bank in Detroit, issued in 1879. The note's serial number is 14790. Text along the top of the note reads "Countersigned and Registered in the State Treasurer's Office." Text in the middle of the note reads "The Peninsular Bank Will pay Five Dollars on demand to the bearer. Detroit, 1879." The note is signed along the bottom edge with the name "M. Donald," President of the American Bank Note Co. New York. Text along the bottom edge of the note reads "And Secured by Pledge of Stocks." A vertical green stamp on the right side of the note reads "Secured by Pledge of Public Stocks." The left side of the note features the word "FIVE" printed on the top and the bottom, with the numeric symbol "5" in between. The right side of the note features the numeric symbol "5" on the upper corner and an image of a woman holding a number "5" which has hanging from it a set of scales, with a man wearing a helmet and carrying a shield standing behind her. The note is printed on paper, which is framed and mounted on board.

- One map sheet entitled "Part of Wards 11 & 13, Detroit." The map (Plate 9) covers an area bounded by the Detroit River on the south, Joseph Campau Avenue on the west, McDougall Street on the north, and Mt. Elliott Avenue on the east. It is drawn at a scale of 1 inch = 200 feet and is printed in black, green, pale red, and pale yellow ink. It shows streets, houses, lots, lot numbers, water mains, commercial buildings, factories, and railroads. Inset maps of Elmwood and Mt. Elliott Cemeteries are shown in the upper left corner of the sheet. The map sheet was part of the "Atlas of the City of Detroit and Suburbs" which was published in 1885 in New York by Elisha Robinson and Roger H. Pidgeon.

- One set of architectural "Specifications for Mr. Fred K. Miller for a Solid Brick Two Story Store Building Located on the Rear of Lot 365 at the South-East Corner of Eighteenth and Perry Streets, Detroit, Michigan." The specifications (Job 284, Set No. 1) are bound in a booklet that has two brass fasteners at the top. The cover is made of heavy tan paper and includes typewritten text for the title. Printed text beneath the title shows the name, "J. Lawson Miller, Architect." The cover interior and outside back cover have printed advertisements for many contractors, tradesmen, and building materials suppliers. The booklet contains 44 pages of typewritten text that give brief descriptions of all of the materials and construction requirements for the project. An index is shown on the first page.
