- Postcard. Color illustration depicting Campus Martius, City Hall & Majestic Building. Front reads, "Campus Martius, City Hall and Majestic Building, Detroit, Mich." Verso reads, "Souvenir Post Card," "Published by Wolverine News Co., Detroit, Mich., Printed in Great Britain." The postcard was mailed to Massachusetts and has a one cent stamp and a post-mark dating the mailing to Aug. 5, 1910, 8 PM, from Detroit, Mich.

- Certificate appointing Edward Edgar Hartwick Captain of Company B, First Independent Battalion, Michigan National Guard, issued on April 5, 1901. The text of the certificate is as follows: "State of Michigan Military Department Aaron T. Bliss Governor and Commander in Chief To all who shall see these Presents, Greeting: Know Ye, That reposing special trust and confidence in the Patriotism, Valor, Ability and Fidelity of Edward E. Hartwick In the Name and by the Authority of the People of the State of Michigan, I do hereby appoint him Captain Company B, First Independent Battalion Michigan National Guard to rank as such from the Twentieth day of February 1901. He is therefore carefully and diligently to discharge the duties of such Office by doing and performing all things thereunto belonging AND I DO STRICTLY CHARGE AND REQUIRE all Officers and Soldiers under his command to be obedient to his orders. And he is to observe and follow such orders and directions from time to time as he shall receive from the COMMANDER IN CHIEF, the General or other Superior Officers, set over him according to the rules and discipline governing the Michigan National Guard. This Commission to continue in force during the pleasure of the Governor of the State of Michigan. In Testimony Whereof, I have caused these Patent and the Great Seal of the State to be hereunto affixed. Given under my Hand at Lansing, this Fifth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and one. By the Governor A.T. Bliss. Charles S. Pierce, Dep'y Secretary of State George H. Brown, Adjutant General" The certificate is affixed with the gold seal of the State of Michigan on the bottom left.

- This 2-page letter was handwritten in black ink on slightly yellowed paper by William C. Houghton who was an alderman from the eighth ward of the city. The paper is printed with light blue lines and shows the letterhead of the Common Council, City of Detroit at the top. It also has the watermark, "Old Berkshire Mills." The verso shows the names and addresses of Common Council members and members of the various Council committees. The text of the letter has been transcribed as follows: "Dec. 31st 1900 To the relatives of Wm. C. Houghton who are left in Detroit in the year 2001. At this date I am living at 241 Avery Ave. I was married to Lou. [Louise] H. Echlin of Buxton Ont on Sept 10th 1879. We have four children: Irene Clara aged 19 years Charles William " 16 " Harold Wesley " 13 " Edna Catherine " 7 " My age is 45 years and four months. My wife's age is 42 years on the 10 of Jan 1901. My father is living also. My mother who was Elizabeth Keel of Greenfield. My father came from England in 1835. I have three brothers Walter C., John W. and George, and two [no?] sisters. Yours, Wm. C. Houghton"

- "Number 25, Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Co. First Mortgage, 5 Per Cent, $5000 Registered Gold Bond" (25 of 30). The bond is printed in printed in red, green, and black ink on white paper that is watermarked "Broun-Green Beaver Bond." It has a decorative engraved green border with engraved images at the top that depict Lady Liberty and other figures that represent American industry and a bountiful harvest. Black, Old-English style text shows the company name, "Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Co." and lists the terms of the bond issuance and repayment. The bond has been signed by "Harris T. Dunbar, President," and "Frederick C. Slee, Secretary," and is dated March 15, 1904. The 20-year bonds were due for repayment on March 15, 1924. A round, embossed company seal is located near the lower left corner of the bond. The verso contains blank spaces which have handwritten text that show the date and name in whom the bond was registered along with the signature of the company Treasurer. Other handwritten text and notes showed subsequent bond ownership reassignments with signatures.

- Booklet containing information on the 1879 Y.M.C.A. on the northeast corner of Grand River Avenue and Griswold Street. The booklet is bound in a green paper cover with a oval-shaped cut out in the center behind which is a photo of the building on the first page. Cover also has a border with a flower motif on the right and left sides. Within in the book are descriptions and photos of the association's facilities both athletic and educational, as well as information about joining. An advertisement for Gage and Fischer life insurance is on the back cover.
