A sign mounted on top of the engine reads, "2,500 Horse Power, Steam Turbine Engine, Used in Eagle Boats, Ford Motor Company." Other engines are in the background. Seventy-five engines were built with enough parts for 15 more. The caption, "Complete turbine power-plant assembly," is on the verso. - Black and white photo of MISS AMERICA II being christened by a woman, probably his wife Murlen Wood. Gar Wood can be seen in a white suit, standing on the deck of the boat holding a young child, probably Gar Wood Jr. A crowd of spectators are standing on the shore in the background, and a large waterfront home is also visible behind them. The picture was likely taken on the St. Clair River in Algonac, Michigan, where the boat was built.
