- Free exhibition by Harry Houdini in front of the Herald Building. The image is taken from the back of a large crowd of people, all wearing hats. Beyond the sea of hats can be seen a makeshift stage, on which there are three men, two of whom appear to be handcuffing the third. Behind them, at the back of the stage is a curtained box, large enough to hold several people.

Thurston, in suit, topcoat and fedora, stands to the left of the image with his left hand resting on the back of a wheelchair with a caned seat. He is looking down at a very small boy who is seated in the wheelchair. The boy is wearing a cloth cap and heavy winter coat, and is turned to one side, looking at Thurston. A large policeman stands behind the wheelchair on the other side. The subjects appear to be on the street, with the curb and sidewalk behind them. A crowd of people is standing on the curb, looking toward the camera. The women are wearing warm coats and cloche hats; the men are in topcoats and fedoras.
