The front has 2 black metal drawers with the dexter side encased in red, white, blue and gray micarta panels. The frame consists of a chromed metal with H-leg and foot crossbar that sits on metal glides. According to the 1951 Herman Miller, Inc. Trade Catalog: "This desk is ideal for the home and school dormitories. Additional uses for the E. S. U. desks were as tables for sewing or receptionist desk. " The E. S.
