- Interior view of the 4-story lobby at the Michigan Theater on Bagley Street in Detroit, Michigan. The theater opened in 1925 and closed in 1976. "The 4,038-seat Michigan Theatre was the only theater by famous Chicago architects Rapp & Rapp in the city of Detroit ... the theater was connected to the Bagley Avenue Building (now called the Michigan Building), the theater was extremely detailed, from its auditorium to its four-story lobby, complete with columns, paintings and sculptures imported from Europe ... the theater had to be carved into a parking garage because studies on the building showed it would endanger the soundness of the adjoining office building, because of this, much of the theater remains today, such as its ticket booth, four-story lobby, proscenium arch, part of the upper balcony, and even the red curtain," from The Buildings of Detroit website.

The building designed by Albert Kahn in Art Nouveau style opened in 1911 as a vaudeville house, later it was a movie theater and then a burlesque house, in the 1960's it's name changed to the Palace and it showed adult films, it closed in 1975.

- Exterior view of the Grand Circus Theater on Broadway and Madison streets in Detroit, Michigan. Originally the Capitol Theater designed by C. Howard Crane it opened in 1922. The theater's most recent incarnation is the Detroit Opera House. "The Capitol Theater was resplendently decorated in the Italian Renaissance style with lavish crystal chandeliers, frescoes, brass fixtures, marble stairways and drinking fountains, rich rose-red Italian damask was used for the main-stage curtain and draperies throughout the house, most of these features are present today in the Detroit Opera House ... after several years of near decay the theater underwent a minor restoration in the 1960, the renamed and reconfigured 3,367-seat Grand Circus Theater became a movie house once again. The Grand Circus Theater closed its doors in 1978 and reopened under the same name in 1981," from the Detroit Opera Houses website.
