- Black and white photograph of a group of men painting outside as part of the Oxbow Club. It appears to be a warm and sunny summer's day as they are all wearing hats and one of the men in the foreground has his shirt tied around his waist. There is writing on the back of the picture but it is too faint to be legible. Underneath the faint writing there is a stamp which reads: "Chamber of Commerce, Saugatuck, Douglas." In the bottom left-hand side there is a stamp which reads: "Joe Armstrong, Allegen, Michigan."

- A black and white photo of the pie pan washer, which is being operated by two women i white dresses. The caption reads: "Designed by Lloyd J. Harriss and built to his specifications this machine does the most thoorough washing and sterillizing job that has ever been introduced in the pie industry." It goes on to explain the way in which the machine works.

- Correspondence from John Bennitt of Centreville, Michigan to his wife Charlotte, December 29, 1861. During this time, Bennitt is enrolled in classes in the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This group of letters is transcribed and footnoted in Chapter 1 of I Hope to Do My Country Service.

- Notes:
- Correspondence from John Bennitt of Centreville, Michigan to his wife Charlotte, January 26, 1863. During this time, Bennitt works as a hospital surgeon and treats the wounded of the Battle of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He is reassigned to the 19th regiment, and is captured by the Confederates and spends time as a prisoner of war in Richmond. After his release, he goes to Camp Chase in Columbus, Ohio. This group of letters is transcribed and footnoted in Chapter 3 of I Hope to Do My Country Service.
