- Woman's coat and dress evening ensemble of black and white floral print satin clocque. The floor length coat has a round neckline without a closing. The sleeves are pleated at the shoulder, then fall kimono-like to a three quarter length. The coat is seamed up the center back, and lined with acetate. The floor length dress has a fitted camisole bodice with spaghetti straps seed beads and dangling pendant beads. It zips down the back. The ensemble has a Ruth Joyce label.

Fitted strapless bodice with two vertical bows on either side of center front waistline. Half-belt in back at the waistline. Corselet in bodice. Stiff nylon underskirt with two layers of nylon tulle. Double organza rectangular shawl with stylized carnation embroidered on center back. This garment was owned by Mrs. Harvey Firestone of Detroit, Michigan.This dress isn't labeled, but was probably designed by Bob Bugnand. Mrs. Firestone referred to it as Bob's carnation dress, although the motif is actually a thistle. The dress was taken to Europe a few times in the late 1950's.

Bodice has ten round buttons down front, each with crocheted covering. Extensive beading on front and side panels of skirt, knife pleats at waist, long train. Handmade lace. Originally work in 1884, altered 1904 and again in 1934. Except for part of the lower part of the skirt train, the dress in good condition. Dress stored with amber necklace wrapped in it. Phosphorous from the amber ate through the silk fabric, leaving large holes. Darlington Park & Co., circa 1880-1889.

- Ice blue satin wedding gown, which according to the designer, was "inspired by the simplicity of ancient Grecian art." The gown has beaded decoration at the waist in an acanthus leaf pattern and a four-and-a-half yard scalloped train. Frances Dodge, for whom the gown was made, also wore a veil of ice blue illusion bound with blue satin held in place with a tiara of illusion decorated with seed pearls. According to Aubrey Eads, president and spokesperson for Peggy Hoyt in 1938, "The procession of bride and bridesmaids was the most wonderful wedding procession, the most exquisite in design, that we (Peggy Hoyt) have ever created." This item was owned by Frances Dodge (November 27, 1914 – January 24, 1971), who was the eldest daughter of John Francis Dodge (co-founder of Dodge Motor Company) and his third wife, Matilda Rausch Dodge (Wilson).

This dress is notable for its gorgeous styling, dramatic color, dipping hemline - which would be quite showy on the dance floor - and fabulous matching shoes with heels studded with brilliants. The American designer, Peggy Hoyt, billed herself as Dressmaker to the Aristocracy.

- Woman's white silk charmuese dress with short chiffon sleeves. It has a V-neck that is edged with net, and an ecru lace yoke. The bodice is bloused with a second layer of material bloused to the waist, and heavily trimmed with gold and silver metallic thread, and strings of gold beads. The waist cummerbund lays over the top of a moderately full skirt. An overskirt pannier reaches to the hips, and is trimmed with the same metallic embroidery and gold beads as the bodice. The overskirt is slightly caught up in front by a sash (embroidered with bead fringe). The dress fastens in the back. Label: J. Hock, Detroit. This gown belonged to the donor's mother, Mrs. Hugo Scherer of Detroit.

- This woman's light grey silk cocktail or formal gown has a flesh-colored yoke that is heavily beaded with pearls, rhinestones, and crystal. It has short sleeves, and a jewel neckline. The natural waistline is also outlined with two rows of beadwork. The skirt is gored and extremely full. It has an 11" hem, and attached petticoats of tan crepe and silk faced bottom interlined with horsehair. Back zipper and covered buttons with loop fastenings where chiffon begins. Worn by donor. - White silk satin gown with heavily beaded strapless bodice, belt, skirt, and petticoat. Scalloped neckline encrusted with pearls, blue rhinestones, silver tinsel. Bodice lined with cream silk georgette. Satin tie attached to skirt at waist. Garters attached to waist. Petticoat of white changeable taffetta with two wide bands of horse hair. Not certain if petticoat belongs with gown. Gown has been let out slightly at waist. Clothing label: BALENCIAGA/10 AVENUE GEORGE V/PARIS. Handwritten on tag sewn on back of label: 36.943. This garment was owned by Elizabeth Parke Firestone, daughter of Mr. Harvey Firestone of Detroit, Michigan.Elizabeth Parke Firestone wore this dress at a dinner in honor of her youngest daughter, Anne, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City on December 27, 1951. The bodice is the most heavily beaded in this collection.

- This is a woman's pantsuit evening ensemble. The cardigan jacket and shell are completely covered in sequins and beads to suggest the cables of traditonal knit tennis wear. The V-neck cardigan has a 1.25" wide decorative band of blue thread, green sequins, and red and white beads that extends around the neck and down the center front. The long sleeves have bead covered cuffs. The jacket has five gold buttons for its center front closure. It has a 2.75" wide beaded band at the hem, shoulder pads, and is completely lined in ecru silk. The jacket has a Bill Blass label. The collarless shell has the same colors and materials as jacket. It has a multicolored band around its neck. Its center back has an invisible zipper, and also has a beaded band around the armholes and the bottom hem. It is completely lined in ecru silk, and labeled Bill Blass. The slacks are white wool with two center front pleats, and straight legs with 1.5" cuff. The side opening has an invisible zipper, and hook-and-eye closures. The slacks have a white silk lining, and two loops for hanging. The slacks have a label that reads: Bill Blass; made in USA of Imported Fabric. This "tennis ensemble" is from the 1980 Bill Blass collection.
