Printed on verso: The Washington Arcade Building - On Woodward Avenue near Grand Circus Park is one of the many handsome office structures to be found in this part of the city. It extends from Woodward Avenue through to Washington Boulevard and was erected by Frank J. Hecker in 1901. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Mar 10, 1910.

- One booklet entitled "Specifications for Storage and Service Stock Building, Clark Avenue - Cadillac Plant, Detroit, Michigan, General Motors Corporation." The booklet consists of 78 pages that of typewritten specifications (carbon copy) for the construction of a four story building at the Clark Avenue Cadillac automotive assembly plant in Detroit. A black ink stamp on the cover page shows "Received Nov. 5, 1919, Dupont Eng. Co., Cadillac Plant, Detroit." The booklet pages are bound with two brass fasteners at the top. Five additional pages, Bulletin Nos. 1-5, are attached at the end of the booklet with two metal paper clips.

- One print entitled "Detroit and Its Water Front In 1887." The print consist of a black and white drawing that shows an elevated view of city, looking northward along Woodward Avenue just south of Jefferson Avenue. The drawing was a supplement to the Detroit Evening Journal on May 7, 1887. A separate engraved drawing along the bottom of the sheet shows a view of the waterfront with many different types of sail and steam vessels on the river. Printed text in the lower left corner shows "Photo-Electrotype Eng. Co., New York."

- Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing a 2-story brick police station building. The station (5th Precinct) was located on Trumbull Avenue near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Church Street. "Trumbull Ave." street signs are visible on the left and right corners of the building and three faces can be seen in the windows to the left of the doorway. The photo was probably taken in early spring since buds are just becoming visible on the trees in front of the station. The "Flour, Grain & Mill Feed" business of A. H. Zink can be seen on Church Street to the right of the police station as well as the adjacent harness shop of Frank Joyce. The horse-drawn delivery wagon of Malcomson Bros. Grocers is parked in front of the two previously-mentioned businesses. Michigan Avenue runs behind the police station building and short sections of the road are visible at the far left and far right sides of the photo.

- One architectural drawing entitled "Riopelle St. Elevation" and "Transverse Section." The drawing (Job 247) consists of red and black ink on linen and shows a front elevation view and interior cross-section view of a 3-story commercial building located on Riopelle Street. The proposed building was designed for "Mrs. Mary Schmitt, Owner, Detroit, Michigan," and included two storefronts on the ground floor. This drawing, shown at a scale of 1/4 inch = 1 foot, was part of a set of eight sheets that were prepared by "J. Lawson Miller, Architect, Detroit, Michigan." A red ink stamp in the lower left corner of the sheet shows "Department of Buildings, City of Detroit. Oct. 23, 1912, Plans Examined and Approved by H. C. Slater."

- James Cataline talks about working for the REO Motor Car Company, in Lansing, MI, as a timekeeper during World War Two and later becoming Parts Department General Manager in 1967 when REO became Diamond-Reo Trucks, Inc. Cataline reminisces fondly about the social life at REO and the terrible emotional damage its closing had on workers and the Greater Lansing community. He also describes the demolition of the REO Clubhouse and the later fire that destroyed the plant, events which, to him, drove home the end of an era. Cataline is interviewed by Shirley Bradley. Recorded as part of the commemoration of REO Motor Car Company’s 100th Anniversary.

- Wayne Nunheimer recalls his career at REO Motor Car Company/Diamond-Reo Trucks, Inc., in Lansing, MI, from 1945 to 1975. He talks about his father working for REO, the REO Clubhouse, the 1937 strike, the company in the post-war period, his job as a spot welder, lawnmower production, piecework and the beautiful REO Flying Cloud automobile. Nunheimer also recalls the mergers which led to the end of the company, ongoing legal battles in bankruptcy, and says how fortunate workers were to have union representation and what a positive influence the union was in the plant. He also describes sales trips to Iraq and Lebanon on behalf of REO, the intricacies of foreign markets and general market pressures in the truck business. - Vernon Cook recalls working at REO Motor Car Company/Diamond-Reo Trucks, Inc, in Lansing, Mi, between 1944 and 1948. Cook says that much of his family worked at REO, including his future wife and that company culture dominated their lives. He describes factory working conditions, the REO Clubhouse, seeing the "Baby REO" car on display, the 1937 sit-down strike, and listening to WREO, the company radio station. - Linda Maxon discusses her early years at REO Motor Car Company/Diamond-Reo Trucks, Inc., in Lansing, MI. She says that she started as a temporary stenographer in 1967 and stayed to work as a secretary for several managers until the plant closed in 1975. Maxon shares many experiences about company social events and institutions and describes the loss of the REO Clubhouse and the burning of the factory itself. Maxon says that in the end, she was able to draw money from the REO pension fund before it was drained and describes the terrible depression suffered by other workers who lost all of their retirement money. - Retired Michigan State University Professor E. James Potchen, former chair of the MSU Radiology Department, reflects upon his early life and education at MSU, his career in medicine and radiology and his experience with with MSU's Faculty Grievance Policy (FGP). Potchen says that he returned to MSU in 1975 to become Chair of the Radiology Department and persuaded the administration that a radiology building could be a profit center for the university. Potchen also gives his opinion of the FGP, talks about various Faculty Grievance Officials (FGO) he worked with, and recalls some of the cases he was involved in while advocating for the the university administration. Potchen is interviewed by John Revitte, former MSU professor of Human Resources and Labor and Industrial Relations.

- Russell Alberts talks about working at REO Motor Car Company, in Lansing, MI, from 1928 to 1939. Alberts describes conditions in the plant, his jobs, pay, benefits, and hours, before unionization and the great strides made by workers after the big labor strike of 1937 and the Lansing Labor Holiday. He also talks about the REO Clubhouse, the radio station, REO products and making experimental vehicles for the American military. Alberts' wife, Eva Alberts, describes her work in the REO Navy Department during the war and both discuss an accidental death in the plant and the safety issues which plagued the manufacturer for decades. - Irene Collier, administrative professional for the Christman Company in Lansing, Michigan, talks about her duties on the project to renovate, restore, and construct new portions of the Snyder-Phillips Halls complex to house the new Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) on the campus of Michigan State University. Collier explains Christman's role as general contractor, the complexity of the project, and the challenges of coordinating the schedules of thirty different subcontractors. She also talks about a dispute over using a non-union contractor, prevailing wage requirements, and how it feels to be the lone female working on the project.

- Otto Aves talks about his career at REO Motor Car Company/Diamond-Reo Trucks, Inc., in Lansing, MI, from 1944 to 1972. Aves describes growing up on a Delta Township farm and following both of his parents into the plant. He also talks about building military vehicles without heaters and defrosters, trying to run the family farm while working double shifts, a wildcat strike over piece rate pay, conditions on the shop floor, building custom trucks for celebrities, and the tremendous influence of the UAW. He says that REO was much like a family and reminisces about REO picnics, outings at Lake Lansing, the REO Clubhouse, movies, bowling, and the ball teams. As in any family, he says, there were problems and he describes filing a shop grievance against his real-life father-in-law who also worked at REO. The interviewers are Shirley Bradley and Lisa Fine. This is the only example of an entire retail space designed by Nelson; it was completed in 1964 in a space formerly occupied by Mills Dry Goods.

- The horticulture department was built in 1888 and remained here until the 1920s when the new building opened. It was later renamed Eustace Hall and became the home of MSU Honors College. It is located at 468 E. Circle Drive.
