- This photograph portrays the interior of the Roman Catholic chapel in the prison camp at Hajmasker showing the altar, the communion rail, and portrait of Christ praying above and behind the altar. Mario Bargato, an architect from Milan and an Italian prisoner, designed the chapel.

- Russian Orthodox prisoners in Koenigstein (Russian and Serbian POW's) worshiped in this ornate chapel at Koenigstein. The altar has a number of candles and a painting of Christ triumphant above it; to the left is another altar with three vessels, probably containing sacred oils, with a painting of Christ praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. There are five additional paintings which serve as panels: Christ on the cross; the Virgin Mary holding the Christ child; Christ's ascension; an archangel; and a saint. A painting of the Lord's Supper is positioned above the panels.

- Russian prisoners of war study in a synagogue in the prison camp at Zwickau. Several sit at a table, reading the Talmud and several men standing in the rear of the synagogue wear prayer shawls. The synagogue is not as ornate as the Catholic chapel in the camp.

- This map of the prison facilities at Kastamuni shows where the Turks incarcerated British prisoners in the Lower House camp. The prisoners had access to a chapel, library, restaurant, badminton court, and soccer field, in addition ot the quarters and messes where they lived and ate. After an escape, the Turks severely limited the prisoners' freedom and privileges in the town.

- This is a view of the altar in the prison chapel at Ruhleben. The altar is well-decorated with an altar cloth, two candelabra, a cross, and a picture of the Virgin Mary holding the Christ child. The altar is decorated with plants and flowers.

- American YMCA secretary Paul B. Anderson took this photograph of the mosque at Zossen-Wuensdorf. The American YMCA made a special effort to provide services to Allied troops in propaganda camps because of the influence of the German authorities used to persuade POW's to change sides.
