- Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at B. Siegel Company Department Store. Displayed in the window are many differing types of dolls dressed for winter in hats and jackets. Signage behind the dolls features advertisements for the American Red Cross, and Mothering the Motherless. Embossed on the lower right corner of the recto is the name of the commercial photographer and their location, "Manning Bros. Detroit." Also, printed on the lower right corner of the recto are the photograph sequence number and date, "44140, 1921."

- Print. Black and white print of The J.L. Hudson Clothier. The building façade features a series of windows, including those at street level with large window displays. Pedestrians and carriages are visible on the street and sidewalk. Signage affixed to the building façade reads, "J.L. Hudson Clothier. Men's and Boy's Clothing, Boots & Shoes for Everybody, Fine Merchant Tailoring ~ Hats Caps and Men's Furnishings, J.L. Hudson. Clothier." Hand-written on the verso, "Hudson's in 1887 - On Woodward Ave where Sanders is Now Located."

- Mounted black and white photo of the aerial apparatuses of the Detroit Fire Department's Ladder Companies No.1 and No.3 being used to fight a fire at the Goldberg Brothers' department store on the west side of Woodward Avenue between Grand River and Clifford Street, as viewed from across the street to the northeast. Firefighters work amid broken windows and display cases along the base of the building. A large clearance banner and a "Store for rent" sign are posted on the Grinnell Brothers' Music House next door to Goldberg Brothers. Clough and Warren Company, Pianos; Wood's Ladies Haus; and the William B. Elliott Company are also posted along the block. Several bystanders are also in frame. The photo is mounted on black matte board, with a border relief around the image. "Fred G. Wright, Detroit, Mich. 115 Gratiot Ave. Phone MAIN 5488," is stamped on the verso. A lengthy handwritten note listing involved firefighters is also on the verso: May 10th 1908 Water Towers[?] in action at Goldberg fire Members of Co. May 10th in 1908 Wm. P. O'Brien, Lieut. J.M. Hudson, Clothier," is printed on a banner drawn as if pinned to the lower right corner of the card. Text on the verso gives the store's address as 141, 143, and 145 Woodward Avenue, and promotes the store's selection, and prices, and encourages out-of-towners visiting Detroit to come to the store.

The recto is printed with an image of a stork walking with a bag in a bag hung from his bill, a bouquet of flowers on his back, and a white peaked hat on his head. "J.L. Hudson, Clothier, Detroit Opera House Building," is printed along the top. The verso is printed with the text, "On or about April 1st we will remove to our new stores, 141, 143 &145 Woodward Ave. where we shall be pleased to receive our Friends and Customers. J.L. Hudson." "Selma" and "Beer" are handwritten on the verso in pencil.

- Staple-bound storybook, written by J. Henry Smythe, for the J.L. Hudson Company. The story concerns a young boy and girl who visit the toy department of the J.L. Hudson Company Department Store, and become inspired by Santa Claus' example to deliver gifts to their neighbors. The children and Prince are pictured on the cover, with their arms, and a sled filled with parcels. An advertisement for Hudson's Toyland section is printed on the back cover.

- Letter addressed "To whom it is concerned," introducing the bearer, J.L. Ernst, as an authorized Encyclopedia Britannica salesman for the J.L. Hudson Company, dated November 8, 1901. The letter is typewritten on J.L. Hudson Company stationery which features an engraving of the store by the Calvert Lithographing Company. The letter is signed by the manager of the Britannica Department.
