- Hugh B. Fox, retired Michigan State University Professor of American Thought and Language, talks about his life, his youth as an only child, his affliction with polio, and his strict Catholic education. He describes his eclectic interests in literature and Peruvian archeology, his conversion to Judaism, and his prolific writings. Fox reads short passages from a number of his works, both in English and Spanish. He weaves in stories of his mother and father, academic life, wives and lovers, and literary associates. Fox is introduced by MSU Librarian Peter Berg for the 10th anniversary session of the Michigan State University Libraries' Michigan Writers Series.

- Singer-songwriter Nathan S. Bell performs and answers questions in a public performance held at the Michigan State University Main Library. Bell tells stories about his family, friends and country music personalities, and about the various jobs he has had in his life, including his current "day job" in the telecommunications industry. He also sings about life, relationships, working people and the struggle to make ends meet in a very tough world. Bell is introduced by Professor John P. Beck, Associate Director, Michigan State University School of Human Resources and Labor Relations. Part of the "Our Daily Work/Our Daily Lives" Brown Bag series sponsored by the MSU School of Human Resources and Labor Relations and the MSU Museum.

- In an oral history interview, Selma Hollander talks with retired Michigan State University faculty Dixie Platt about their fifty-year friendship. Platt reminisces about coming to Hollander's home and tip toeing through an art project that Hollander had laid out on her living room floor. Platt also talks about living next door to the Hollanders in the Marilyn Apartments as a new faculty member and being introduced to other MSU faculty and administrators by the Hollanders when she came to visit. Hollander talks about pursuing her bachelor's and masters' degrees at MSU, exhibiting her art at various venues including, the Wharton Center, teaching classes, aging, fashion and travel. She also talks about her husband Stanley's blindness and how, with her help, he was able to continue teaching and traveling and her recent one-hundredth birthday party. The third of three oral history interviews with Selma Hollander.

- In a lecture entitled "Borges and MSU", Michigan State University Professor Emeritus Donald A. Yates discusses his long personal and professional relationship with acclaimed Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges. Yates describes Borges' childhood, reads from his work and tells of helping bring the author to MSU as an artist in residence in 1976. Yates says that knowing Borges "is probably the most important thing in my life". Yates is introduced by MSU Assistant Director of Libraries Peter Berg and MSU Professor Michael Koppisch.

- Robert Repas, professor emeritus of the Michigan State University School of Labor and Industrial Relations (SLIR), discusses his career and the history of SLIR. Repas talks about his earliest days as a labor advocate in Wisconsin, how SLIR was staffed and various people he worked with through the years, the Michigan Legislature's investigation into the school and its mission, his relationship with MSU President John Hannah, SLIR programs and seminars, the MSU Faculty Grievance Office, and his involvement in the drives to unionize MSU faculty. Repas says that he believes that his telephone was tapped through most of the 1960s because of his association with the ACLU and his run-ins with members of the John Birch Society. Repas is interviewed by John Revitte, MSU professor of Labor and Industrial Relations.
