The image, taken from an elevated view, features Hudson's as well as neighboring retailer, Himelhoch's. Signage affixed to the façade of Hudson's reads, "Buy Victory Loan Bonds Until We Cancel It!" Several pedestrians are visible on the street corner. Automobiles are visible parked along the curb in front of the retailer. Herbst Clothing neighbors Hudson's on the southeast side of the building; American flags are visible affixed to the facade. The name of the photography studio, and geographic location are embossed on the bottom of the recto, "Manning Bros., Detroit." Also, the date is hand-written on the verso, "4-18-19."

Signage affixed to the new Hudson's addition reads, "Another 10 Story Building for the J.L. Hudson Co." The date is printed on the bottom of the recto, "Oct. 3 - 18." Also, the photography studios name and their geographic location are embossed on the bottom of the recto, "Manning Bros., Detroit."
