- North-most portion prior to arrival of Cunningham's Drugs. Signs in the windows at 100 South Washington Avenue announce the coming of Cunningham's Drugs to the first floor of the Prudden building. The Holly Lansing Grill is at 104, Baker's Shoe Store at 106. City Planning Division staff trimmed the photo.

- Located on northeast corner of Washington Avenue North and Ottawa Street East. The Senate Grill is on the corner at 200, perhaps out of business at the time of the photo. The entry to Rich's Bar is seen, it was upstairs at #200 1/2. The PX Mart selling general merchandise was at 202 North Washington Avenue. Upstairs in Room 16 of the Dodge building was the F. J. Pliska Music Shop. City Planning Division staff annotated the photo and trimmed it.

- Built in 1852 and torn down in 1870. Stood at the spot now occupied by the State Capitol Building. The materials in this building were used to build the Butler block in which McFarland's Drug Store was later located on the northwest corner of Kalamazoo and Washington.
