- A collection of publications and materials about and by Lansing-area local authors, gathered by staff of the Lansing Public Library and the Capital Area District Libraries over the years. The majority of the collection is poetry chapbooks or smaller independently-published items. There are several editions of locally-compiled and published educational booklets, as well as sheet music and lyrics, small memoirs, articles and short stories, and sometimes correspondence concerning a particular piece of writing in its file. The collection is broken into three series: Individual Publications, Group Publications, and Other Local Author Related Material. This collection is added to on an ongoing basis. If you are an Ingham County author or publisher, or you have written about the greater Lansing area or its people, and you would like to see your work added, please contact the Forest Parke Library and Archives.

- This collection of family papers and memorabilia starts with a family tree of the descendants of Dr. Henry Palmer (1827-1895), who was a Civil War surgeon and then became the surgeon general of Wisconsin, based in Janesville, Wisconsin. The collection was assembled by his grandson Frederick Hoyt Taylor's second wife Martha Mongeau Taylor. It includes photographs, letters, memorials, small publications, news clippings, textile fragments, a handwritten memory book, and a baby book. Related family names that appear in the collection include Dr. Palmer's daughter Elizabeth Palmer Taylor and husband John Siebert Taylor (who was the MAC/MSU director of bands in the 1910s); their son Frederick Hoyt Taylor; Dr. Palmer's son Dr. William H. Palmer; Dr. Palmer's daughter Stella Palmer Sabin and her family.
