3. Muslim Religious Service at Zossen (Wuensdorf)

Notes:
German officers observe a Muslim outdoor service at the prison camp at Zossen-Wuensdorf. Two iman kneel under a tent while thousands of faithful behind them pray towards Mecca. The Germans encouraged their Muslim POW's to practice their religion freely and strove to attract recruits for the Turkish Army to fight against the Allied infidels.

Imaginary German view of the surrender of the British at Kut-al-Amara in April 1916. British General Charles Townshend offers his sword to the Turkish commander, with the British flag on the ground in submission. British and Indian troops have begun the process of stacking their weapons on the ground. The city of Kut can be seen in the background.

British prisoners prepare to depart the prison camp at Ouchak, after bidding farewell to the Turkish commandant, who is standing in the center of the photograph. The Ottomans signed an armistice with the Entente Powers in October 1918 and withdrew from the war. While many of the British officers are wearing military uniforms, a considerable number of men are in civilian clothing.

This is a bird's eye view of the prison camp at Zossen-Wuensdorf which showd Muslim prisoners standing in a circle, listening to the speaker standing on the platform in the middle of the compound. A group of German officers and several Turkish officers stand to the left of the speaker. This photograph may show a recruitment address to attract Muslim prisoners to volunteer to serve with the Turkish Army against the Allies.
