Photograph of Jean Lowrie in her office at the Western Michigan University School of Librarianship. Lowrie was hired in 1951 as a librarian for the campus school. She became faculty in the School of Librarianship in 1958 and served as head of that unit from 1963 to 1980. She retired from Western Michigan University in 1983.
