- A portrait of members of the Everett family. Lansing's Everett High School was named for this family. Roswell Everett was an early settler whose 1841 home on West Miller Road still stands. Seated in front row: Elmer, Cyrus, Henry, Ransom. Standing in back row: Cynthia, Sarah, Elizabeth, Kate, and Phoebe. On back of photograph: "Four sons and one daughter of Roswell Everett. - Located at 114 North Grand Avenue. Photo shows red flames roaring in the night outlining the Hotel Kerns fire of December 11, 1934, in which at least thirty-four people were known dead. Here a section of the front wall buckles as firemen at the lower right back away.

It was built in 1940 and is characterized by exterior brick colors that go from dark to light, bottom to top of the building. The view is from the Michigan Avenue bridge.
