- One of the Lansing Fire Department pump engines on a hydraulic lift in the new Station No. 1 machine shop. This print has adhesive and moisture damage. Similar photographs appear in the booklet "Lansing Fire Department: Dedicated to the Saving of Life and Property" which was published in approximately 1950. The brochure credits George Beak, Communications Division, and Frank Mainville, Press Photographer, for the photographs in the booklet.

- Description:
- This is a group of digital of photographs scanned from an album owned by the Lansing Fire Department in its historical collection. These photographs primarily document the construction and opening of Station No. 1 (now Station 42, the "Big House") at 120 East Shiawassee Street in downtown Lansing, from 1948 to 1949. The station was dedicated in 1949. The photo album also contains some older historical photographs, many undated, which have been included here. The people in the photographs have not been identified. The original photographs are 8" x 10" black and white prints, several with moisture, mold, or glue damage. A few have been hand tinted. They were all scanned in color. The Forest Parke Library and Archives at CADL is grateful to the Lansing Fire Department for allowing us to share these photographs. - Description:
- A hand-tinted photograph of two pumping engines with hoses set up to spray water into a lake or river. Some unidentified men are in the photograph. The two engines are seen from a different angle in photograph LFD-F09.002. The photographer and location are not identified.

- Description:
- A photo album of snapshots (mostly color, some vintage) and a few postcards, showing restored Reo and Diamond Reo fire engines, as well as trucks, lawn mowers, and school buses. Approximately 275 images including about ten 34mm slides, a larger photo print, and correspondence items items in the back pocket of the album. Many of the photographs were taken at vintage-automobile shows; others were exchanged between collectors or purchased from automobile photo dealers. Some have identifying information written on the back sides, or a note with the photo. Locations of the photographs/vehicles are both national and international in nature, not limited to the Lansing area or Michigan. Photographs in this collection have not been digitized.

- Description:
- A photograph of the Lansing Fire Department on Allegan between Grand and Washington streets. Along the street is Bidwell Threshers, the Central Fire Station, Charles Smith & Son Saloon, and Queen's Lunch Counter. One of the wagons is labeled Chemical No. 1. There is mostly illegible pencil writing on the front of the photo's mount that includes "Chief Delfs" - Hugo Delfs was the fire chief at the time of the photograph. The front of the photograph is stamped F. J. Christopher, 1142 S. Washington Ave., Lansing. On the back is "Amateur Photo by Edward Abbey, Lansing, Mich." This photograph appears on page 88 in J. P. Edmonds' book Early Lansing History.

The truck is surrounded by many floral arrangements, and two uniformed men are in the photograph. The man on the right is likely Chief Hugh F. Fisher. A photograph of a similar fog truck with information about the trucks has also been printed in the booklet "Lansing Fire Department: Dedicated to the Saving of Life and Property" which was published in approximately 1950.
