- Michigan State University senior Nimesh Patel says he is majoring in social science and psychology and hopes to earn a law degree and a doctorate in international relations and finally join the foreign service. Patel talks about his Indian heritage, his parents, their emphasis on education, the sacrifices made by their families, and the professional pursuits of his sisters. Patel describes the village his father came from and says that his own visit to India changed the way he looks at the world and made him more appreciative of life in the U.S. He also talks about the adjustment to college life and socializing with students from all over the country. He tells of working on weld integrity in Quality Control, of meeting his wife, his love of music and he even plays his harmonica. - Michigan State University senior Charlette Pugh talks about her youth in Muskegon and racially divided Benton Harbor, MI, her African-American heritage, her role models, her relationships with her siblings, her high school curriculum, and growing up with parents who are black professionals in a predominately Jewish part of town. Pugh, who entered college at age sixteen, says that she wants to be a lawyer and own her own business or law firm one day.

- Dave talks about being hired in August 1976, his first day in the Body Shop jungle, and a variety of pranks. He tells of beginning his apprenticeship in 1979 and receiving his journeyman's card 1989. Dave discusses lines of demarcation, overtime, wages, family issues and working Sundays when families of the tradesmen would come to the plant and picnic outside.

- Doris Dow recalls her career as a secretary at REO Motor Car Company/Diamond-Reo Trucks, Inc, in Lansing, Mi, between 1950 and 1975. Dow talks about joining her mother and other relatives at the plant and describes her first job running a blueprint copier, becoming a secretary and later working for Oldsmobile. She says that at REO, the company was more a part of the social fabric of a worker's life than at Oldsmobile and goes on to describe the "fun" she had at the REO Girls Club, and performing charity work with other employees. Dow also discusses the decline of REO, the day that the doors were locked, the aftermath of the closing, the demolition of the REO Clubhouse and the loss of the REO pension fund. She explains the complexity of selling the company as a unit because of the way owner Francis Cappaert had divided the operations from the property. The interviewers are Shirley Bradley and Lisa Fine. Recorded as part of the REO Memories oral history project.

- Lucile Pauline Matignon Crane talks about her service as a surgical nurse in the U.S. Navy during World War One, between April 1917 and February 1919. Crane says that she graduated from nursing school in 1914 and first worked at Stanford Hospital in San Francisco and that she enlisted in the Navy for good pay, and a chance for more education and equal opportunity. She talks about shipping out to Scotland, working in a surgical unit in a hospital which was a former resort hotel, the types of injuries she treated and socializing with enlisted men because the doctors were off limits. She also says that she was one of the first nurses to be sent home as the war wound down, spent her leave in Paris and was shipped home from Brest with ten women and thousands of men. Crane talks about her career after leaving the Navy, marrying and settling in Modesto, CA and notes that she received no special recognition for her service until the state of California paid a veterans bonus. The interviewer is unidentified.

- Estelle M. Davis explains why she enlisted as a Red Cross nurse during World War One and describes her experiences. She reminisces about being a public health nurse in Jersey City, her family's reaction to her enlistment, and being shipped across the Atlantic to Calais with 350 fellow nurses. Davis recounts the awful food and the terrible conditions under which staff had to perform surgery, while serving only 50 miles from the front at Verdun. She says that she met her future husband when treating him for a shrapnel wound at her aid station. Davis is interviewed by Lois Collet.

- Ena Malin talks about her life in domestic service at the Olds mansion on Main Street in Lansing, MI. Malin and her husband, who came to the U.S. from Germany in 1961, were employed by Gladys Olds Anderson, daughter of auto magnate Ransom E. Olds. She talks about the pressures of working for demanding, wealthy people, her duties and how she came to work at the mansion and how her husband became the family chauffeur. She also discusses the mansion's opulence, the many famous and powerful house guests entertained by the Olds-Anderson family, and laments the demolition of the mansion and the end of an era in Lansing high society. The interviewer is Shirley Bradley. Recording ends abruptly. Recorded in commemoration of the REO Motor Car Company’s 100th Anniversary.

- In an wide-ranging interview, Robert Repas, professor emeritus of the Michigan State University School of Labor and Industrial Relations, remembers his family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and how he became interested in labor issues and socialist causes. Repas recalls his first union jobs, studying economics in college and earning a degree from the University of Wisconsin. Repas says that he only later become interested in workers' education and goes on to recount his work in a variety of union related positions before coming to MSU in 1957. Repas is interviewed by John Revitte, MSU professor of Labor and Industrial Relations.

- Prolific author and poet, retired Michigan State University Professor Hugh B. Fox talks about his early family life in Chicago and his writing career. Fox explains how he became acquainted with theater, music, and ballet at a young age and how he was forced into medical school, but later abandoned it to pursue the liberal arts and writing. Fox talks about his many interests including archeology, and his treatise on author and friend Charles Bukowski. Fox is interviewed by Kara Gust for the Michigan State University Libraries' Michigan Writers Series.
