- The ball park, which opened in 1925 south of Woodward Avenue and west of Pine Street, acquired lighting and a grand stand after Detroit Edison Supervisor Fred Halbach raised funds for improvements in 1936. - Eva Woodward Parker (1855-1933) was the daughter of Lysander Woodward and Peninah Simpson Woodward. She was married to Arthur S. Parker. Upon Eva Woodward Parker’s death, she left her estate to the community to establish a permanent library. The photograph was taken at the Huntington and Clark Studios in Detroit. - Portrait of Edwin Rufus Frank (1838-1911) in uniform. Includes ornate frame. During the 1890s Edwin R. Frank and W. H. Marvin published a newspaper, The Rochester Plaindealer which lasted only nine months. (per A Lively Town, Rochester Centennial Commission, 1969, p. 95.). "Rufe" Frank was the son of Colonel John Chadsey Frank, Sr. and Arabella Chipman Frank. He grew up on the family farm on East Auburn Road and served in the Michigan 5th Infantry during the Civil War.
