- Description:
- This truck was designed by Irving L. Stoney and Albert B. Bowman. Both had worked for several automotive manufacturers, and they received a patent for a four wheel drive system. They attempted to incorporate and begin manufacturing, but the business never materialized. The truck pictured may have been the only one built. The photograph was likely taken in 1919 or 1920. Construction of the state's Cass office building is seen in the background.

- View of Western Knitting Mills across Chapman Pond, also known as Chapman Lake. The Western Knitting Mills factory was built in 1896 and produced knitted goods until 1939. The building was later owned by the McAleer Manufacturing Company, later known as the Higbie Manufacturing Company, and then ITT Higbie. - Hand-colored image of the Peninsular Paper Mills. The mill was located on Mill Street on the south end of Rochester, along the Clinton River. This brick structure was built on the site of a previous mill, which was built by Stephen Mack (1766-1826) in 1824 and was destroyed by fire in 1875. At the time, it was owned by William H. Barnes (1829-1903), who operated it as a paper mill until his death. It then changed hands over the years, being known variously as Barnes Paper Mill, The Peninsular Paper Company, the Rochester Paper Company, and the James River Company.
