- A group of men, presumably medical students, with "Old Doc Naegle" at the University of Michigan Anatomical Laboratory entrance. The building was completed in 1889. The photograph is inscribed on the back by a Dr. Haze, likely Dr. William H. Haze who practiced medicine in Lansing for many years and also served as mayor in 1866.

Sewn in a red cover bearing a lithograph of the Parke, Davis and Company laboratory and general offices between Guion Street, Atwater Street, Joseph Campau Street, and McDougall Avenue, as well as their New York office, and warehouse. Their laboratory of the manufacture of gelatin products is depicted on the back cover.
