- Description:
- This collection is made up almost entirely of photographs, particularly Ralph Sweeney's personal albums of travel both with the United States military and on his own for leisure. Many of his relatives are represented in the photo collections as well. The majority of the collection was salvaged from the Sweeney family home at 316 North Butler Street in Lansing after it was sold and had been vacated in 1991; the remainder, a small group of Sweeney, Crissman, and other unidentified photographs, was part of the David Caterino estate gift to the Forest Parke Library & Archives.

- Description:
- The Lansing State Journal newspaper ran a feature called "Ye Olde Photograph Album" in its pages from approximately 1936 to 1943. It consisted of a vintage photograph, often sent in by a reader, with a brief caption, each time the feature appeared. Photographs depicted all sorts of scenery, people, and events from the Lansing area, mostly from the 19th century. Lansing historian Ford Ceasar clipped these from the paper and pasted them in an oversized ledger binding with pages that were cut from various Motor Wheel blueprints. Many of the clippings were not pasted in but stuck between the pages loosely as well. Several blank blueprint "pages" were part of the ledger and have been kept. It is not known if this is a comprehensive set of the "Ye Olde..." feature. Dates have not been included with most of the clippings.

- Description:
- This is a collection of photographs originally gathered by the Lansing Historical Society from the Edmonds family, prior to 1955. The photographs depict some of the earliest scenery in Lansing on record. They have been divided into 23 subject series. This collection is duplicated online, at this link in the Making of Modern Michigan digital library hosted by Michigan State University. James P. Edmonds was the son of the first Lansing Fire Department organizer, and its first Chief Engineer. He served as City Treasurer before co-founding the Bates & Edmonds Company, which manufactured motors, in 1899. He also wrote the 1944 book "Early Lansing History." It is not known whether Edmonds took all of these photographs, or if he or his family was their collector.
