- In October of 1928. The image shows a street lined with people. Over the street is an arch of evergreen boughs that spans the street and is topped with an American flag. Just below the flag hang the letters: “Welcome to Allendale.” In the center of the street stands one man, apparently cutting the ribbon that is stretched from side to side.
