- Black and white photograph from a glass plate negative. Woodward Avenue is visible in front of the Detroit Opera House and the Palmer Fountain. Many pedestrians cross the thoroughfare; a street car travels along the tracks. The Wright and Kay Company; and H.C. Weber Hardware Company are also adjacent to the Opera House. Written on the verso, "From Woodward to Monroe North side looking north, 1910, Detroit Opera House."

Fort Street can be seen at the far left side of the photo, Woodward Avenue is visible in the foreground, and Michigan Avenue is visible between the Old City Hall and the Majestic Building. The busy street scene on Woodward includes streetcars, horse-drawn wagons, pedestrians, a bicyclist, and a street sweeper. Business names that are visible include "The Home Savings Bank" and "C. A. - Single page from Ballou's Pictorial Drawing-Room Companion, dated November 1, 1856, pgs. 281-282. Page 281 features three Detroit-related etchings. The etching on the top left depicts a Post Office on Woodward Avenue, with pedestrians walking on the sidewalk and a horse drawn carriage in the street. The etching in the center on the right depicts St. Ann's Church at the corner of Larned and Bates Street, with a woman and child walking along the sidewalk and a child playing with a dog in the street. The etching on the bottom left depicts Odd Fellow's Hall on Woodward Avenue, with grocery, drug, and hardware stores also depicted. The verso, page 282, contains a poem titled "A Memory," by Eliza F. Moriarty, and a story titled "Too Miserable by Half," by Herbert Linton.

- Black and white photo taken looking south on Woodward Avenue in Highland Park. Otto's Confectionary stands on the east side of the street. Walker and Company advertisements for Peter Otto, Contractor and Detroit Creamery Milk are painted on the side of the building. To the south of Otto's is a cloth tent supported by several posts, painted with, "The Scenic Cream Parlor 4046, Cream, Sandwiches, Cigars, Hot Drinks." Cars pass along Woodward and streetcar tracks run along the west side of the street. The smoke stacks and water tower of the Ford Highland Park Plant's power house are visible in the distance along Woodward. "Oct-2-16," is printed in the lower left corner. "Smith Brothers, Commercial Photographers, Arcadia Bldg - Woodward & Stimson, Detroit, Michigan," is stamped, and "October 2, 1916, Woodward Avenue looking south in Highland Park," is typewritten on a label tapped to the verso.

- Cabinet card bearing a sepia-toned photograph of the building containing Sarah Jane Allen's hair dressing shop and Richard Webber Allen's real estate business at 219 Woodward Avenue between Grand River and Clifford Street as taken from the east side of the street, facing northwest. A sign reading "Allen 1891," is incorporated into the building's brickwork below its cornice. Several pedestrians are on the sidewalk. A pharmacy, music store, restaurant, and a tobacconist are visible in adjacent storefronts. "Mrs. R.W. Allen's Hair Shop," is handwritten on the verso.
