Portrait of Helen Kirkpatrick, signed [and dated on back October 31, 1945]. Kirkpatrick was a journalist and war correspondent who covered much of World War II. She worked for Frank Knox at the Chicago Daily News and later worked for the New York Post. She covered the London Blitz, the North African campaign, and after D-Day she reported from France.
