Description:

Both sides of Washington Avenue are seen in this photo taken across East Allegan Street, looking to the north. Several additional blocks can be seen to the north across Michigan Avenue, particularly the Bank of Lansing at 103 North Washington Avenue and the Tussing building at 106 West Ottawa Street. Of note on the west side of South Washington Avenue are the vacant storefront at 100, the Holly Lansing Grill at 104, Baker Shoes at 106, and S. S. Kresge department store at 114 South Washington Avenue. On the east side at right, the Morgan's Jewelers sidewalk clock, the Planters Peanuts sign of The Peanut Shop, and Rouser Rexall Drugs store.
