Lace Day Dress with Silk Taffeta Skirt, 1926

Description:
Ecru-colored lace day dress of machine lace with an attached skirt of pleated black silk taffeta. Weighted tabs are on teh back of the underskirt for proper carriage. The surplice style bodice also features a drop waist and is accented with a softly wrapped bow on the left front hip. This garment was owned by Matilda Dodge Wilson (October 19, 1883 – September 19, 1967),who was the wife of John Francis Dodge (October 25, 1864 – January 14, 1920), co-founder of the Dodge Motor Car Company in Detroit, Michigan.
