Three-Piece Satin Bathing Costume, 1916

Description:
Black satin bathing costume, three pieces. Includes bloomers with cuffs piped in white silk, and that close at the knees with white round buttons; an overdress with a front panel of white satin and all seams piped in white silk and white buttonholes; and a black satin sash lined with white satin. This item was owned by Matilda Dodge Wilson (October 19, 1883 – September 19, 1967),who was the wife of John Francis Dodge (October 25, 1864 – January 14, 1920), co-founder of the Dodge Motor Car Company in Detroit, Michigan.
