Description:
Negative, glass-plate. Monochromatic glass-plate negative from the studio of Louis James Pesha depicting the starboard side of the Pittsburgh Steamship Company freighter SIR WILLIAM FAIRBAIRN, under steam. Two crew members stand near the cabin at midship. A line extends off frame from the stern of the freighter, suggesting that it is tugging something. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background. "In 1915" was handwritten on the non-archival envelope which previous held the plate.
