Description:

Crowds of people along the Grand River in Lansing, Mich. waiting to watch the demonstration runs of the Schafer's Bakery "Such Crust V" speedboat. The State Journal estimated 10,000 people were present to witness the boat's 110-mph trips between the Logan (MLK) and Waverly street bridges in May 1953.
