- Circa 1950s. Suren Pilafian Architect. Music and Art Wings. August 1952. Located in the block bounded by Cass, Kirby, Second, and Ferry Avenues, immediately north of the Kresge-Purdy Library. View of Music and Theater side. The Community Arts Building to be built on Wayne University’s campus will house the departments of the University which are of special interest and service to the community-art,music, speech, theater, home economics. The Board of Education is providing half of the $3,000,000 construction cost. The balance is being donated by industrial organizations and civic-minded Detroiters.
