Notes:

Fragment of woven wool fabric with yellowed plied warp and several weft bands with tapestry and weft-wrapping. Approximately half of the fragment consists of a series of brown bands with tapestry along the edges and weft-wrapping within the band to create diamond shapes with ovals inside. These brown bands range from 1.5 cm to 1.9 cm wide. The yellow bands in between range from 0.7 cm to 0.8 cm wide. The brown band near the center has 0.5 cm of blue/black along one edge. The other half has a 10.7 cm wide band of brown weft with six rows of yellow tapestry rectangles. Weft wrapping was used to form patterns similar to the other half of the fragment. Near the center of this section there is a red weft band with three picks of linen in the center. There are two or three picks of red on either side of the linen. Next to this section (and near the edge of the fragment) there is a 4.5 cm wide band with large circular weft-wrapping patterns. At the edge of the fragment there is a 0.6 cm wide brown band with some remnants of weft-wrapping. Between this brown band and the band with the large circular patterns there is a yellow band that varies in width from 0.6 cm to 2.3 cm. The brown wefts are somewhat variegated (shaded stripes?). There are remnants of both selvedges. There is a very deteriorated remnant of a twined border. next to the narrow brown and yellow weft bands.
