The elevated view of Campus Martius depicts the Bagley Memorial Fountain in the foreground, the Majestic Building is behind the greenspace, and the Detroit Opera House is in the central right background. Streetcars, automobiles, and pedestrians line the thoroughfare. Printed on verso, "Campus Martius, Detroit, Mich. Campus Martius is a public square, located in the center of the business section of Detroit. It was named by Judge Woodward in 1806, the word meaning military camp." The date of the postcard is determined by the postmark on verso, not when the postcard was produced.
