Capt. Eldridge L. Hawk of Sacramento, California. Elected chief of Grand Army of the Republic at Pantlind Hotel, Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1926 at the Civil Ward veterans' reunion. Head to hip shot of an elderly bald man seated on an armless chair. He is wearing a dark double-breasted jacket with brass buttons and a medal ribbon on each side of his chest. A white shirt and a tie with tiepin complete his outfit. He is clean-shaven except for a white mustache. His gnarled hands rest on his thighs.
